Championships and festivals are what poker players and enthusiasts wait for, either to witness or to take part in.
PokerStars being one of the premier companies that not only runs different online operations, but also different live events, its yearly schedule is eagerly awaited by its fans. With the Thanksgiving holiday having been a lull for most poker communities across the world, it is time to perk up and find the upcoming event schedule of this organization for the upcoming year. The events for the end of the year are more or less known by all with the Unibet Poker Fest coming up this week in Romania.
If you look at the different festivals and championships that PokerStars has lined up, the schedule has been designed to cover the first half of the year. The New Year would be kicked off by the championship event in the Bahamas which would be held from January 6th and it would end on 14th. There would be a festival held in London subsequently from January 22nd for seven days.
There would be a festival held at Rozvadov which would be hosted in the first week of March. There are three championship events lined up after that, two in March at Panama and Macau while the last one would be held end of April in Monaco.
The differences in festivals and championship events lie in the size as well as the scope of the events. Festivals are organized at a smaller scale while Championships are EPT events that are targeted by players from around the world. The buy in events is main in festivals with smaller amounts than the championships. The latter events usually have hundred events lined up with a Main Event that has a considerable prize pool to offer. With the schedule out, players and fans can plan their attendance at these events accordingly.
